Short answer
A pre-listing kitchen refresh updates doors, handles, benchtops, splashback and lighting without replacing the cabinetry carcasses. It typically costs a fraction of a full renovation and removes the "needs a new kitchen" objection that suppresses offers, which is why it is usually the better pre-sale decision.

Kitchens sell homes, and they also sink them. The mistake sellers make is binary thinking: either live with a dated kitchen or spend heavily on a full renovation. There is a middle option, and before a sale it is almost always the right one.
It is rarely the layout. It is the door profile, the handles, the benchtop edge and the lighting. Change those four things and a kitchen moves forward a decade without a single carcass being removed.
If the layout is genuinely unworkable, if there is water damage in the carcasses, or if the kitchen is so small that buyers will extend regardless, a refresh is money you will not get back. We would rather tell you that and spend the budget on paint, floors and presentation.
We sequence a kitchen refresh so you keep a working sink and a working oven for as much of the period as possible, and we work to your photography date rather than to our own convenience.
We tell you whether a refresh will do, or whether the kitchen is beyond it.
